253 William Bruce Albin's middle name came from his mother Mary Bruce.

His father William is shown on a land survey next to John Shepler in Frederick Co., Virginia. About 1772 John Shepler's three sons moved to Rostraver Twp., Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. Mathias Shepler sold about 160 acres to William Albin, spelled Albon, on the 1785 land survey and in the 1790 census.

William sold his land to John Shepler in 1790 or 1791 and moved to Nelson County, Kentucky.

William's wife was one of three daughters of John Shepler of Frederick Co., Virginia.

He reconciled his misconduct March 2, 1793 at Cane Creek MM.
He was again disowned for his War service at Cane Creek October 3, 1812.
William served in the War of 1812 and lost a leg in the service.
